Traversing the lands has become quite the daunting task. Moving under the traveling tale of a powerful Colossus capable of granting whoever defeats it endless longevity as well as permanent link with nature and the earth itself, you move across the lands in search of this mysterious beast. Traveling so boldly and under such stress slowly begins to take its toll upon both your body and mind. Along your travels you come across a great oak tree in the middle of a vast field. Placing your things down after a long period of travel, you close your eyes and allow your mind to wander in peace under the gentle spell of slumber. however, once your relaxing nap has finally ended, you then realize that you may not be in the same place you once started. You find yourself surrounded by a realm of trees. Trees as far as the eye can see them as if you were trapped within an endless sea of leafy green. Some appear small and fragile, like intricately constructed statues and sculptures of the earth to vast towers growing from the Earth like brown and green monoliths of the world. But sitting directly in the middle of the endless grove is what catches your eye. Covered in a mass of vines and branches was the body of the colossus, its dark eyes locked directly upon your position. You watch as the vast vines and roots of the trees around you begin to bend upward ominously and rise to the surface, scratching at the earth threateningly. You know that you cannot stop here, as you have come much to far and have sacrificed far too much to back down from this powerful being. With you wits in order and your mind and body strong and clear, you brandish your weapon and boldly move toward the earthen beast, preparing for whatever challenges it may bring to you. Life Colossus, created by Luminarium artist =Broken-Lithium, presents us with his own vision of a legendary colossus. But not so much one of flesh and bone and unrelenting blood lust, but more a creature of the earth wishing to do all it can to defend its lands.
The artist's signature style has been well implemented into this piece really brings out quite a lot into this piece. From subtle shades of green and brown on the landscape of the image that build on the seen, while more vivid shades in the color palette actually build upon that atmospheric tones of the image. The golden streaks of sunlight added into the tones of compositional elements do give a nice warming presence to the piece that does quite a bit more for the composition overall. The crawling appearance of the vines and roots of the trees in the background and foreground really give off the appearance of the depicted landscape carrying more life than your average grove of trees in a forest. Using these various elements, it does a great job of transporting the viewer into this world and experience its mysteries as they appear.

Now as I have praised the elements of its color palette and the unique design styling of the artist, there are a few small things that could be done to bring out more in this piece to the viewer. While I like how some of the trees and plants are designed I feel as though some of the other elements could do with a bit more refinement to their appearance. Much of the plants appear a bit too roughly drawn and should be shaped a bit better. In their current state, some parts of these elements appear a bit too jagged to the viewer and distract from the overall quality of the composition. Simply adding more detailing depth into the appearance of the design would do wonders for it. Speaking of depth, in some parts there appear to be an untempered use of depth of field blurring that could use better implementation into the piece. Some of the foreground elements should be blurred just a bit more to put more focus on the colossus in the middle of the scene. Since that is the main subject of the piece, more attention should be brought to it. Keep experimenting with all of these elements in your piece and even introduce new ones in order to bring out that much more originality and style from the piece.

Our travels sometimes take us to strange and unusual places. More specifically, the travels of the mind can transport us to places we would never see and encounter battles and creatures many would have never even thought of before. But as our crafts refine and our minds mature, we are able to take this images and styles to newer levels than before, stretching our talents before others for them to admire and explore themselves. Life Colossus manages to take us someplace new while at the same time, keeps us a little closer to reality to better immerse our minds together. Although a bit more polish could be given to this piece, there's still more than enough to love in this piece for all to see. Great work Oliver!

Reminds me of the scene in Disney's "Snow White" as she's running scared through the forest. Great job!
